Verizon Business' Collaboration Calculator
Verizon Business has created a new online tool to help determine a company’s degree of collaboration and provide specific recommendations to help make a company more collaborative.
The Collaboration Calculator is a brief online survey administered by a Verizon Business conferencing specialist or account manager. The survey addresses multiple aspects of a company’s organization and its collaborativeness. Once the survey is completed, a Collaboration Index score (numeric measurement of your company’s overall collaborativeness) will be generated, and diagnostics will be provided on actions a company can take to help improve their company’s level of collaboration.
This tool is an extension of the Meetings Around the World Study which assessed the state of collaboration within businesses around the world. The Study surveyed businesses in the United States, France Germany, UK, Australia, Japan and Hong Kong to determine collaboration attitudes and behavior and created the first-ever Collaboration Index. Meetings Around the World: The Impact of Collaboration on Business Performance

Those are the results of a groundbreaking study – "Meetings Around the World: The Impact of Collaboration on Business Performance" – conducted by Frost & Sullivan and sponsored by Verizon Business and Microsoft Corp®. The study includes the first-of-its-kind Collaboration Index, which measures a company's ability to work together based on technologies such as conferencing and instant messaging, as well as an organization's culture and processes that encourage teamwork.
Collaboration was found to positively impact each of the "gold standards" of performance – profitability, profit growth and sales growth – to determine a company’s overall performance in the marketplace. The study reveals a powerful new metric business leaders can use to more successfully manage their companies. Measuring the quality and capability of collaboration in a given organization presents an opportunity for businesses to prioritize technology investments, encourage adoption of new tools and open up communications lines for improved collaboration.
The Meetings Around the World study surveyed over 900 information technology and line-of-business decision-makers from a cross section of 2,000 small-to-medium, mid-market, and global companies split across the U.S., Europe (France, Germany & UK), and Asia-Pacific (Australia, Hong-Kong & Japan).
