Qualifications:
- Post secondary education plus a minimum of two years of experience related to Internet technologies
- Excellent communication capabilities including interpersonal, oral, written, telephone, online (HTML), and presentation skills
- Customer service experience required
- Must be available for all weekend and evening shifts in a rotation schedule
- Advanced Internet user with excellent understanding of IP networking
- Minimum of user level knowledge of UNIX (BSD/Solaris) and X Windows
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of applicable networks or systems
- Organized and detail oriented with sound time-management skills
- Ability to multi-task is critical
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Respond to technical support (trouble report and change management) requests from customers by phone, email, and customized ticketing systems.
- Deal with a variety of product technologies including DSL, ISDN, T1, T3, OC3/12, Ethernet, network security (VPN/firewall), and voice over IP, as well as email, DNS, RADIUS, web hosting, and other server applications in a support/helpdesk setting
- Perform network monitoring and maintenance tasks including a variety of network monitoring systems, issuance of status updates, and escalation to vendors and other escalation teams.
